What is Extended Producer Responsibility?

EPR is a policy approach that makes producers responsible for the end-of-life management of products they place on the market. In Greece, obligated producers generally need registration in the National Producers Register (EMPA) and participation in the applicable approved EPR / alternative-management system for the relevant product stream. The framework is administered by the Hellenic Recycling Agency (EOAN), under Law 4819/2021 and product-specific rules.
